Managed support

Google Workspace admin support, UK hours

UK Google Workspace admin support means a named engineer inside the tenant during 08:00 to 18:00 GMT, a 4-hour response target on account and access faults, and a monthly change log. Support that only exists in a US time zone leaves a British organisation unable to act until mid-afternoon.

What a UK desk covers that a ticket portal does not

Most Workspace faults are not technically difficult. Somebody cannot reach a shared drive, a leaver still has calendar access, a distribution address bounces after a DNS change, a phone stopped syncing after a password reset. Each one is fifteen minutes of work for somebody who already knows the tenant, and half a day of frustration for somebody who does not.

A UK desk exists to close that gap during the hours the organisation is actually working. The engineer already holds the runbook, already knows which org units carry which sharing rules, and does not need discovery before touching anything.

  • Account creation, suspension and archiving, including leaver data transfer
  • Drive and shared drive permission faults, including the nested-folder cases
  • Mail routing, alias, group and distribution address changes
  • Device and 2-step verification recovery for locked-out staff
  • DNS records affecting mail: MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC
  • Licence changes, edition moves and seat count reconciliation

Why the response target is stated in working hours

A four-hour target measured in working hours is an honest commitment. The same target measured around the clock reads better on paper and is met by an automated acknowledgement at 03:00, which helps nobody.

Severity matters too. An access fault blocking one person is a four-hour item. A tenant-wide mail delivery failure is worked immediately, and we will call rather than reply, because a British finance team discovering at 09:10 that no invoices went out overnight needs a phone call rather than a ticket update.

How the handover works when you already have somebody doing this

Most organisations arriving here already have an internal person holding Workspace administration alongside another job. The first two weeks document what they know: current org unit structure, sharing defaults, group ownership, the accounts nobody can explain, and the licences nobody has counted.

That document is the deliverable, and it stays yours. If the arrangement ends, the runbook, change log and configuration baseline go with you, and the internal person is better placed than before rather than newly dependent.

What this costs and when it is not worth buying

Support starts at 15 seats and is priced per seat per month, with the monthly floor published on the pricing page. Below 15 seats a support agreement rarely earns its keep, and an hourly arrangement for occasional work is the more honest recommendation.

Above roughly 300 seats the calculation inverts again: at that size an internal Workspace administrator is justified, and the useful external role is depth on migrations, security work and audits rather than daily administration.

What we see that others don't say

The requests that actually arrive on a UK support desk are not outages. Around two thirds are access questions raised in the first working hour of the day, which is exactly the window a US-hours support contract cannot cover, and why the time zone matters more than the response target.

What this doesn't cover

  • We do not cover endpoints, networks, printers or line-of-business applications outside Google Workspace under this agreement.
  • We do not hold sole super-admin control. At least one super-admin account stays exclusively yours.
  • We do not offer 24/7 or weekend cover on this agreement; out-of-hours work is scheduled and quoted separately.
  • We do not act on requests from people outside the agreed authorisation matrix, including urgent ones.

Get a fixed price for this

Send your seat count, current platform and deadline. You get a fixed price and an available cutover date, usually within one working day, from the engineer who would run the work.

Questions we get asked

Is the support desk actually in the UK?
Cover runs 08:00 to 18:00 GMT with a named engineer, and the registered office is 5th Floor, 5 Conduit Street, London W1S 2XD. Calls reach +44 20 7183 3436 during those hours.
What response time do you commit to?
Four working hours on account and access faults. Tenant-wide mail or authentication failures are worked immediately and we call rather than reply to a ticket.
What is the minimum size for a support agreement?
15 seats. Below that we recommend hourly work rather than a monthly agreement, because the agreement would cost more than the support consumed.
Can you support a tenant that another provider currently administers?
Yes. The first fortnight documents the current configuration before any change is made, and the resulting runbook stays yours whether or not the agreement continues.
