Leaving Google Workspace

Outbound moves are quoted on the same rate card as inbound ones: £95 or $125 per mailbox, three to four weeks for 50 users. Drive permission mapping, not mail transfer, is the dominant source of effort, and the old tenant stays read-only for at least 90 days after cutover.

We migrate into Google Workspace and out of it, on identical terms. If Microsoft 365 is the right answer for your organisation, arguing you out of it would cost you a year and cost us your trust.

These pages set out what moves cleanly, what has no export path at all, and how the exit is evidenced so you can demonstrate later what happened to your data.

What this doesn't cover

  • Google Chat history, Keep notes, Sites and Marketplace add-on data have no reliable export path; we state the gap rather than work around it.
  • Google Vault retention is exported with an evidence trail, not transferred into Microsoft Purview as a live retention system.
  • We do not advise on the commercial terms of your Google contract termination.

Questions we get asked

Will you migrate us away from Google Workspace?
Yes, on the same per-mailbox rate card as a move into Google. We run the export, the reconciliation and the evidence pack, and hand you a written runbook at the end.
What is the hardest part of leaving Google Workspace?
Drive permissions. Google allows individually-owned files shared to arbitrary people, while SharePoint expects content in sites with inherited permissions, so every shared drive needs a destination site and a named owner.

Not sure which of these you need?

Send us the shape of your estate — seat count, current platform, and the deadline you are working to — and we will tell you which of these pages applies and what it costs.
