What changed and when
January 2025Gemini and NotebookLM folded into Business and Enterprise editions; list prices rose by roughly $2 per seat per month rather than being sold as a £/$ add-on.
Before January 2025Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise were separate add-ons at $20 and $30 per seat per month, so tenants that had bought them saw an effective decrease.
April 2023Flexible-plan pricing increased against the annual plan, widening the annual discount to roughly 20 per cent per seat.

The number that matters at renewal is not the headline increase, it is your billed seat count. Tenants we audit routinely pay for suspended accounts, duplicated leaver accounts and Business Plus seats held by people who use Gmail and Drive only. A seat audit before renewal usually recovers more than the increase costs.

If you are on the flexible plan and your headcount is stable, moving to the annual plan is the single largest saving available, worth about a fifth of licence spend. If your headcount swings seasonally, the flexible premium is cheaper than paying for seats you cannot release.

What this doesn't cover

  • Reseller and partner pricing can differ from list; this page tracks Google's published list prices only.
  • Education, Nonprofit and Frontline editions are priced separately and are not tracked here.
  • Prices are checked against Google's public pricing pages at each review date, not scraped continuously.

Questions we get asked

How much did Google Workspace go up in 2025?
List prices rose by about $2 per user per month in January 2025 when Gemini was bundled into Business and Enterprise editions. Business Standard moved to $14 and Business Plus to $22 on the annual plan.
Why is the flexible plan more expensive than the annual plan?
The flexible plan lets you add and remove seats each month, so Google charges roughly 20 per cent more per seat. The annual plan locks the seat count for the term and cannot be reduced mid-term.
Do UK prices track US prices?
No. Google publishes a separate list price per currency and does not FX-convert, so a GBP price does not move when the exchange rate does. Compare against the price list in your own billing currency.
